RooseMobile

RHS_Portfolio_Showcase.png

This app was designed for Roosevelt High School: Early College Studies as a platform for students and teachers to connect throughout their education life. The app serves as a resource for student and staff users to stay in contact with each other.

Back when I was a student in CUNY Lehman College, we had our own app that is best described as the platform for our school. The app featured class schedules, degree major, and other resources in Lehman. I wanted to make somewhat a similar app for the high school I went to, which is why I designed this app through Figma.

UX Research Insights

Professional chat feature

Insight: Student & staff users would recommend have conversations on a educative platform rather than exchanging phone numbers.

Solution: Adding a chat feature in the RHS app for simple access.

Being up to date with the class

Insight: Students have many reasons or even excuses for missing out homework assignments and announcements. However, they forget about the homework assignments because they were not reminded throughout the day.

Solution: Develop a "Threads" or "Twitter" like layout for user's home screens to create a social media like presence to users. With social media being our main source of connections in today' society, this type of design can attract users to click and view the screens.

Easy access of class schedule

Insight: In school, students get handed their class schedule through paper, but it can potentially get lost.

Solution: Design a class schedule tab screen where students see their class schedule and letter day. Also, develop group class codes.
